Vessels of Slavery is a collective of five black women working to bring light to, and honor, enslaved and freed people on the eastern seaboard. Archive research lays the groundwork for an installation that speaks to the conditions, location, and history of slavery.
This project is planned to span 18 months, including three separate weeks of research and community engagements, that will culminate in a large outdoor exhibition with community engagements and related events, in late Summer/ early Fall of 2024.
